True IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) *UPDATE*

I ran across this video on YouTube and couldn’t stop watching.

"A Glorious Dawn" – ft. Carl Sagan & Stephen Hawking

ambient electronica + auto-tune + science = AWESOME

The man behind these videos is John Boswell. They are part of a project called Symphony of Science. His website states:

The goal of the project is to bring scientific knowledge and philosophy to the public, in a novel way, through the medium of music. Science and music are two passions of mine that I aim to combine, in a way that is intended to bring a meaningful message to listeners, while simultaneously providing an enjoyable musical experience.

When I realized I was watching a Carl Sagan remix I almost hit the back button. I’m glad I didn’t. Both the music and video production in these videos is exceptional (especially for YouTube). Boswell pulls it off in a way that doesn’t come across as corny. The tracks retain their educational value while still being musically enjoyable. Enjoy.
